The cat is secured to the frame and the pipes attach to it. So when you remove the cat you lose the support in the center. It seems sturdy? Anybody who has done this have any thoughts on this? Pat

Once you put it together like that it become apparent it;s quite solid and i have yet to hear anyone have issues due to this. I think the cat mounting is necassary because the cat is quite heavy. Imaging that weight being there just suspended. No doubt that would be bad. But with elbows theres no weight there. i think it;s fine, and no doubt we'd have heard someone with issue by now because many run that way and have for years.
